frame april vote

The next Meltwater Champions Chess Tour event is fast approaching – and that means it’s time for you to choose who’s in it.

For the next tournament, which starts on April 24 and runs until May 2, we have a line-up of 10 players ready to fight it out against the Tour’s top players.

All of them would be exciting picks – but all for different reasons.

All you need to do is fill out the form below and choose TWO names. These players will all want to get on the Tour bandwagon and just need a chance to break into the automatic qualification slots for the rest of the Tour. So who will it be?

Who to choose?

You have a choice of 10 names. Here they are:

  1. Teen sensation, Alireza Firouzja

  2. Former World Blitz Champ, Liem Quang Le

  3. Former world title challenger, Sergey Karjakin

  4. India’s No.2, Pentala Harikrishna

  5. Former US Champ, Sam Shankland

Who else is playing?

After the last event, US star Wesley So is in the lead by a whisker from World Champion Magnus Carlsen. The top eight qualify for the upcoming tournament automatically. Here are the current standings:

Six more wild card entries will be revealed later.

The next tournament will be a “Regular” with a $100,000 prize pot and 16 players taking part. The tournament winner will pocket a cool $30,000 top prize plus a seat in the next “Major” in May. So there’s a lot at stake here!

Remember, voting is open only to Premium members.

If for any reason the poll winner can’t make the event, the chance will be offered to the next on the list. Voting will end on Friday, April 2 at 00:00 CET and the winner will be announced on the following day. The process for stage one is simple: complete this poll!
